Medea: Mediated
2015 Boulder Fringe Festival

Medea:Mediated is a transmedia performance collaboration between PhD in Theatre and Performance students Will Lewis and Sarah Johnson with MFA in Dance candidate Ondine Geary. The piece looks at the complications of identity formation through one of classical theatre’s most complicated and studied characters: Medea. Movement, a mashup of texts from Heiner Muller, Euripides and Oscar Van Woensel, critical reflection from various scholars, projected and mobile device media are all juxtaposed against some of the best covers of 80’s and 90’s pop songs, as we attempt to deconstruct perception and the gaze.
